Spent 3 hours arguing with a bank over a $8 fee
I switched to a no-fee checking account 6 months ago and somehow they still charged me an $8 monthly fee. Called them up thinking it'd be a 10 minute fix but nope. After being transferred 4 times and spending way too long on hold, they finally admitted it was their glitch. Has anyone else had a bank just refuse to fix obvious errors?

My buddy spent two whole hours on hold with his internet company just to cancel a $5 add-on he never signed up for. By the time he got through, the rep was like "oh yeah, that was our bad" and fixed it in like 30 seconds. Made me wonder why they make you jump through hoops when they know it's their screw up from the start.

Yo @kai_ramirez38 this reminds me of my sister who spent an hour on the phone with her bank because they flagged a charge for a $3 coffee as "suspicious activity" but let through some random $400 charge from a place she never heard of. She had to prove she actually bought the coffee with her own card and it was like pulling teeth. Then the guy finally says "oh sorry the fraud alert was a glitch in our system" and fixed it in a minute. Makes you wonder if they just have people sitting around inventing problems to keep their jobs.

Man that's exactly what happened to me with my phone carrier a few months ago... they added some "premium voicemail" thing for $8 a month and I never asked for it. Called them up and the guy was like "oh yeah sometimes our system auto-adds that when you upgrade your plan." Took me 45 minutes on hold just for them to admit they did it themselves. It's so frustrating how they make you feel like you're the one who messed up first before they finally own up to it. Makes you wonder how many people just give up and pay for stuff they never signed up for...
