Spent $80 on a pressure washer to clean my patio and it turned into a side gig

I just wanted to get the moss off my concrete, but three neighbors saw me working and asked for quotes. Made the money back in a weekend. Anyone else have a tool buy that accidentally made them cash?

Honestly, get a simple contract template online before you do more jobs. Tbh it saves so many headaches later.

That is awesome, and honestly not that surprising. People see you doing a good job and suddenly they all want it done too. My old cordless drill died, so I bought a nicer one on sale, and the next thing I know I'm putting together flat-pack furniture for half my apartment building. It paid for itself in a month just from helping neighbors who hated reading the instructions. Sometimes you just need the right tool to make a job look easy.

My version of that is owning a decent wrench set. Suddenly I'm the guy who can fix a wobbly bike or a leaky sink, even though I'm just following YouTube tutorials. It's a weird reputation to have when you still struggle with opening pickle jars.

lol I mean yeah it's cool that you helped people out but also like... it's just a drill. You're acting like you discovered fire or something. People have been putting together flat pack furniture since before cordless drills were a thing, they just used a screwdriver and complained about it. I swear half the posts in here turn "I did a simple task with a basic tool" into some kind of life changing revelation. Glad it worked out for you though I guess.
