That one week where my grocery bill came in $40 under budget
Last Tuesday I walked into Aldi fully expecting to blow my weekly $80 budget. But the meat markdown section was loaded, like three packs of ground beef for $2 each. Then they had this random bin of avocados for 29 cents each, so I grabbed six. Ended up at $38.47 for the whole week's food and I still don't know how that happened. Anyone else ever hit that weird sweet spot with markdowns and just have everything line up?

Nah, you probably just paid less for worse food (you know, the stuff nearing expiration).

That meat markdown section is a total gamble. Some weeks you hit gold, other weeks its like nobody marked anything down. Sounds like you got lucky with the ground beef and avocados lining up. But here's what I'm wondering: how did you stretch that into a full week of meals? Like, did you freeze a bunch of that ground beef or did you end up eating tacos for three days straight? Cause I can never make a single protein stretch that far without getting bored.

Read somewhere that freezing ground beef in flat packs saves space and thaws quicker, helps with meal prep.
