Warning: dropped $260 on a meal kit subscription I barely used
I signed up for one of those meal kit boxes back in March because the intro offer was $60 for 12 meals, which felt like a steal at the time. What I didn't do was read the fine print: after the first box it jumped to $130 a box, and they auto-shipped every single week whether I picked meals or not. I ended up with three boxes of food I never cooked, threw most of the produce out when it went bad, and paid $260 before I finally caught it and cancelled. If you're thinking about one of these for the discount, check the price after the intro period and how often it ships before you hand over your card info. Has anyone actually made one of these work long term without wasting money?
