I stopped folding my table at every market and my sales went UP 30% in Tucson
I do about 15 craft fairs a year around Tucson and for the longest time I folded my whole display table like everyone said to do, three panels down, everything in bins, the whole setup. A vendor next to me at the Tanque Verde show back in March told me to leave one side unfolded and just drape a cloth over it with a couple of my best pieces sitting out, like I was mid sale or something. I tried it at the next two shows and people actually stopped and picked stuff up instead of doing that slow walk past my booth. Went from around $400 a show to $520 on average, same product, same prices. Has anyone else noticed that a too perfect booth makes people walk right by?
