Bought a fancy square level set and one slipped in my truck
Picked up a magnetic digital level set for $180 at the supply house last Thursday, figured it'd be the last level I ever needed. Got back to the shop, unloaded the truck, and the box slid right out of the tailgate onto the pavement. Screen cracked, one bubble vial gone, and the magnetic strip bent at a perfect 15 degree angle. I spent the whole afternoon trying to zero it out with shims before I gave up and used a 20 dollar torpedo level. Anyone else have a tool that bit the dust before it even made it to a job site?

Man, that sucks. I dropped a brand new laser measure off a ladder the first day I owned it. It hit the concrete and the little lens just popped right out, no hope of fixing it. I feel your pain on spending the whole day trying to make it work, that's the worst part. Sometimes the cheap stuff is the only thing that survives.
