Finally settled the debate on using pocket screws or dowels for a maple face frame

I went with dowels for a client's kitchen remodel last month and the alignment was perfect, with zero visible gaps. Has anyone else found a better method for keeping things flush on a big project?

Honestly, I had the same result with dowels on a walnut desk frame last year. Tbh it just feels more solid than pocket screws for fine work.

Saw a video where they used glue AND dowels for crazy strength.

Try clamping the joint tight before you drill for the dowels. Makes a huge difference in how clean it comes out.
