Hard pass on that $700 Festool domino joiner until I borrowed one last weekend

Figured it was overpriced hype until I cut 30 mortises in 20 minutes perfectly square and now I'm trying to figure out how to tell my wife I need one, has anyone else caved after a test run?

They didn't count the sharpening time or setup. Those numbers are misleading.

I used to roll my eyes at numbers like that too, @alex820. I figured people were rounding up or just showing off. But then I watched a guy do it at a trade show last year, and I changed my mind completely. He had his chisels sharpened like razors and his whole setup was laid out in a specific order, no wasted motion. He did 25 in about 18 minutes, and they were all clean, accurate cuts. It made me realize the difference between someone who just works fast and someone who has truly mastered their workflow.
