My Festool Domino joiner jammed solid last Thursday on a walnut face frame, and I think the common advice to just 'blow it out' is a bad fix.

I had to fully disassemble the tool to remove a compressed wood chip that was wedged behind the cutter, which took me two hours and a call to their service center in Indianapolis.

Wow, that sounds like a nightmare! I had the exact same thing happen with my Domino on a maple project last year. I learned real quick that blowing compressed air just makes it worse, it packs that stuff in tighter. After ruining a bearing on a previous repair, I finally broke down and did a full teardown too. It took me almost three hours but I got every tiny bit of walnut dust out and it's been running smooth ever since. Totally agree that the quick fixes just set you up for a bigger headache down the road.

Yeah, that blow-out advice is a band-aid fix at best. I read a forum post where a guy had the same thing happen and it wrecked his cutter bearing. Full teardown is a pain, but it's the only way to be sure it's actually clear.

Ugh, my buddy learned that the hard way too.

Ever wonder if the blow-out trick just pushes the clog deeper into the system? I saw a video where a guy cut open his old hose and found a solid plug of gunk way past where the air could reach. That full teardown Skyler mentioned is rough, but at least you know you got it all. Otherwise it feels like you're just waiting for the next, worse jam to happen.
