When I started in 2004, he hid the sharp tools and said I had to learn to mark pins before I could cut them, which felt like a waste of time back then. By week two I could eyeball a 1:6 slope without a gauge, and to this day my pins drop in with just a tap. Does anyone still teach layout first, or is it all router jigs now?
