Pro tip: A French cleat rail behind the bench saved my dust collection setup

I got tired of my shop vac hose snagging on every cabinet door I was hanging, so I built a simple horizontal French cleat rail along my workbench wall about 4 months ago. Now I can mount my cyclone bucket, a small clamp rack, and even a power strip on sliding brackets that pop off in seconds. The piece I cut was just a 2x8 ripped to 3 inches wide, two angled cuts with my table saw, and it took maybe 20 minutes. It solved the constant trip hazard problem and freed up floor space I didn't realize I was wasting. I used to zip tie the hose to the bench leg and curse every time I pulled a panel forward, but now the hose hangs above the work zone completely out of the way. Has anyone else tried a similar wall rail system for their clamps or drill storage, or am I overcomplicating a simple shelf?
