Switched from dowels to a Domino on a 14 door maple kitchen and I'm never going back
I've been using dowels and glue for years on face frames and doors and always fought with alignment, sometimes off by a 32nd and I'd have to sand for 20 minutes to hide it. Bought a Domino about 5 months ago for a 14 door maple kitchen out in Naperville and every joint lined up dead flush right off the tool. The dry fit alone saved me probably 6 hours across that job, and the doors hung square on the first try with no shimming. If you're still drilling dowel holes by hand on paint grade work, do yourself a favor and at least try one on a test frame. Anybody here running a Domino on face frames too, or do you keep it just for doors and drawers?
