That one cabinet door that wouldn't sit flush ate my whole Tuesday
Hanging a set of upper doors on a maple face frame job over in Beaverton and every single one went on clean in about 10 minutes each. Then door number four was proud at the top corner by maybe 3/32 and nothing I did with the hinges helped. Turned out the face frame itself had a slight bow from when I glued it up, so I ended up pulling the hinge, shimming it out, and re-drilling after about 2 hours of head scratching. What's your go-to move for a bowed face frame, do you shim the hinge or plane the door edge down?
