Took me 6 hours to figure out why my drawer fronts kept binding, and it was one dumb thing
After three weekends of shimming and re-hanging, I finally figured out my cabinet doors were binding because I'd set my hinge cup bore 2mm too deep on the drill press, which turned a quick install into a full day of rework.
Been there so many times it is not even funny. My worst one was drilling shelf pin holes on the wrong side of a line I marked myself, then I stood there staring at it like the board moved on its own. The worst part is you cannot just fill a hinge cup hole and pretend it never happened, that thing is staying with you forever. Two millimeters sounds tiny until you watch a door fight the frame every time you close it. Next time you will measure twice and still probably do it once, because that is just how this hobby goes. Guess that makes us even on the dumb mistake scoreboard.
