Dropped $60 on a Klein tone probe and my old $15 one honestly did the same job
Bought the fancy Klein VDV500-705 tone generator and probe kit at the supply house in Mesa two weeks ago because the counter guy swore it would save me time on a 12 unit apartment rough-in. Turns out on cat5e in those thin walls it didn't pick up any cleaner than the cheap Fluke I got off a van buyout in 2019, and I spent an extra 20 minutes per unit second guessing myself. Anyone else think the high dollar toners are mostly hype once you know how to use the basics?
