Dropped $340 on a lens spanner set and honestly it fixed more cameras than my soldering iron ever did
I know everyone in this trade says save your money and grind down a cheap flathead for ring removal, but I finally bought a proper adjustable spanner set about 8 months ago for $340 and it has paid for itself maybe 4 times over. Before that I cracked two front elements on vintage glass trying to muscle off a retaining ring with a filed down screwdriver, which cost me way more in refunds than the tool ever did. Maybe it's just me but I think the old guard pushes the cheap trick too hard and it makes new folks scared to buy real tools. Curious what single tool you regret waiting so long to buy?
