Dropped $40 on a cheap set of JIS screwdrivers and stripped two screws on a Nikon F3 last month
I was trying to save money on a repair for a customer's Nikon F3 and grabbed a $12 set off Amazon instead of the $50 Vessel set I should have bought. The tip cammed out on the second screw and chewed up the head on a film advance lever screw, so I ended up spending two hours with a graver and a jeweler's saw fixing my own mistake. Has anyone else learned the hard way that JIS is not the same as Phillips, or am I the only one who ignored that for years?
