Staring at a Pentax K1000's insides today, I felt a shift in repair work
The advance lever was jammed, which used to mean digging through paper manuals for hours. Now, I just check online forums and usually find a fix right away. I mean, it's quicker, but idk, maybe it's just me but I miss the hands-on puzzle of mechanical cameras. Still, it's nice to easily share tips with other repair folks now.

Used to think old-school was better, but online tips changed my tune.

Reddit's woodworking forum saved me hours.

Actually, @logan_anderson40's point about old-school vs. online made me realize those forums preserve tricks that masters never wrote down. It's like saving a whole craft from fading away.

Totally see this with cooking too. My grandma never wrote down her pie crust method, but some random food blog had the exact same trick with vodka instead of water. It's wild how much knowledge almost got lost before the internet came along. Those little tips feel like finding hidden treasure now.
