The guy who brought in a camera full of sand and blamed the beach
Last summer a surfer dude dropped off a Canon that was packed with so much grit I found a tiny starfish in the mirror box, and when I asked how it got like that he just shrugged and said, 'the ocean wanted a photo too,' which left me wondering if anyone else has gotten a weird organic surprise inside a body, like a feather or a bug or worse?

The whole "ocean wanted a photo too" line sounds funny but honestly that guy is just being careless with gear that costs more than my rent. A camera is a sealed box for a reason, and if sand and salt are getting into the mirror box then water is getting in there too, which means that Canon is basically dead and he is out a few hundred dollars for a joke. A starfish in the body might make a fun story but it also means the shutter and sensor are already toast, so maybe the real weird surprise is how fast people wreck expensive stuff and laugh it off.
