Bought a cheap sleeping pad off Amazon and 3 nights in the Smokies showed me why you shouldn't

I grabbed a $30 inflatable pad for a trip in Great Smoky Mountains National Park last spring. By night 2, I was waking up on the ground every 2 hours because the thing kept losing air. My buddy's $120 Therm-a-Rest stayed totally solid the whole time. Has anyone else had a budget sleeping pad fail on them mid-trip?

Bought a Klymit Static V for $45 and it held up fine for a week in the Sierra. Not as comfortable as my friend's higher end pad but I wasn't waking up on the ground. You might have just gotten a dud or a leak from a sharp spot on the ground.

Klymit pads are weird like that. My first one leaked on the second night. Second one's been going strong for three years now. Probably got more luck than skill at this point. Or maybe I just got better at not rolling onto pointy rocks. Either way, cheap and working is a win in my book.
