Found a "camp chair" at a garage sale in Sedona that weighed 11 pounds and I have questions
Stopped at a garage sale outside Sedona last month on the way back from a hike and this old guy was selling a camp chair that weighed 11 pounds. Not a typo. I put it on his bathroom scale to check and he just nodded like that was normal. It's got a steel frame, inch thick padding, and a cup holder big enough for a soup bowl. He told me he bought it in 1994 and it had been on maybe 200 trips. I paid $8 for it mostly as a joke, but then I actually took it car camping near Flagstaff and it was the most comfortable thing I've ever sat in outdoors. The thing about camp gear reviews is nobody tests the 30 year old stuff, we all just argue about which $200 ultralight chair packs down to the size of a burrito. Has anyone else here bought ancient gear from a stranger and had it completely outclass their new stuff?
