Hot take: I saw a guy at the North Cascades campsite using a carabiner for everything but climbing
He clipped his water bottle to his pack, hung his lantern, and even used one as a pot handle. It made me rethink my whole gear kit and how many single-use items I carry. What's the most clever multi-use piece of gear you've seen someone bring?

Honestly, a bandana does just about everything.

Seriously, it's the ultimate cheap fix. I've used one as a coffee filter in a pinch, and it works shockingly well for straining pasta water too. Just tie it over the pot and pour.

Oh man, you guys are turning a bandana into the duct tape of the fabric world. Next you'll tell me you can use it to fix a leaky hose under the sink... or as a napkin after some messy ribs. I'm just waiting for someone to say they made a whole outfit out of them.
