My buddy in Tulsa told me my headlamp makes me look like a confused miner, so I tried his $15 one
Last weekend I was setting up camp near Tulsa and my buddy kept laughing every time I turned my head. He finally asked why I was wearing a 400 lumen headlamp on the low setting when I could just get a $15 one that weighs half as much. I told him I paid $70 for mine two years ago and never thought twice about it, then he handed me his cheap one and honestly the light was just as good for walking to the bathroom at 2am. Now I am sitting here wondering if I have been overpaying for gear this whole time based on nothing but the price tag. Has anyone else switched to cheap gear and been totally fine with it, or did the cheap stuff break on you after a few trips?
