My old tent went from a leaky mess to bone dry after I finally sealed the seams
I ignored the factory seam seal for years until a downpour in the Adirondacks last month proved me wrong. I used a tube of Gear Aid Seam Grip and let it cure for a full 48 hours, and the difference is night and day. Anyone have a favorite seam sealer brand for silnylon?

That Seam Grip is a lifesaver. It feels like half of adult life is just fixing the shortcuts we took when we were younger. I finally learned to read the manual after my own series of small disasters.

I used to skip manuals too until a tent repair went real bad.

Took me way too long to learn that lesson. For years I just used duct tape on everything, which always made a bigger mess later. Now I keep a tube of that stuff in the junk drawer and actually follow the drying time instructions. Makes a real difference.
