Vent: That $300 'ultra-light' sleeping pad from TrailBlaze Gear was a total joke

I took it on a weekend trip to the White Mountains and it popped on a flat rock the first night. The company's warranty process took 6 weeks and they sent me the same flawed model back. Has anyone found a truly tough pad that doesn't weigh a ton?

My old Thermarest lasted like eight years before I finally wore it out. After a bad experience with a fancy new brand last fall, I went right back to that basic model.

Sticking with the basics always works for me too.

Honestly that whole "ultra-light" trend feels like a trap sometimes. My buddy bought a crazy expensive tent that ripped in a light breeze. Sometimes the old heavy stuff just WORKS.
