Blew a client call in Chicago over a missing agenda, here's my fix
I was on a Zoom with a VP from a logistics firm last Tuesday and completely froze when they asked about next steps. Turns out I never sent an agenda, so the whole 45 minute meeting went sideways and they replied with 'we'll circle back.' Now I block 10 minutes before every call to write 3 bullet points in a shared doc, even for quick check-ins with my own team. Has anyone else found a simple tool or habit that stops you from fumbling those big client meetings?
Been there man, that frozen feeling when they ask about next steps and your brain just goes blank is the worst. What saved me was a running doc where I drop the agenda plus 2 questions I want answered before every call, takes like 5 min and keeps me from winging it. Even just typing out the 3 bullets in the calendar invite itself works if you don't wanna open another tab.
