Invested $800 in a career coaching program and it paid off in 3 months
I was stuck in my admin job for 4 years with no promotion in sight. Last spring I finally spent $800 on a 6-week career coaching program through a local community college. It forced me to update my resume, practice interview answers, and actually network with people in my field. Within 3 months of finishing, I landed a project coordinator role that pays $15k more a year. Has anyone else tried something similar and seen real results?

@ivan462 the structure and deadlines made all the difference for me though.

lol $800 for someone to tell you to update your resume and practice interviewing? that's basically common sense you could've gotten from a youtube video for free. sounds like you just got lucky timing-wise with the job market more than anything.

Man honestly it's not just about the common sense stuff though... I was stuck for months sending out the same resume and getting nowhere. Having someone actually point out the specific weak spots in your approach is way different than watching a generic video. The deadlines part is huge too, like having actual accountability with a real person on the line changes how you follow through. And the interview practice where they actually tear apart your answers and make you redo them... that's the stuff you can't get from youtube. Timing matters sure but I'd bet money they got way more structure and feedback than what feels obvious after you already know it.
