Shoutout to the $1,800 resume writer who got me 3 interviews, or did she just rewrite my buzzwords?
Two years back I paid a woman in Chicago $1,800 to redo my resume and LinkedIn after 9 months of silence from job apps, and within 6 weeks I had 3 interviews and landed an offer that paid $12k more. The flip side is my buddy paid $400 for a cheaper service and got a resume that read like a robot wrote it, so now I honestly don't know if the money mattered or if I just finally learned how to describe my own work. Did a paid resume service ever actually move the needle for you, or did you get the same result just by having a friend read it?
