Why does nobody tell you the first job offer is usually trash
Back in 2016 I took a job in Cincinnati for $31,000 because it was the only place that called me back after 40 applications. The boss quit two weeks after I started and they handed me his workload with no raise or title, so I started keeping a list of everything I was actually doing. I brought that list to my review 8 months later, they said budgets were tight, and I started applying again that same night. Second place offered $44,000 and I took it. Has anyone else had a place try to promote you by just dumping more work on your desk?
