I just hit 500 linear feet of cedar fence installed this year
Always thought that number was for bigger crews, not a solo installer like me. It hit home when I finished a 75-foot run in Charlotte last Thursday. What's a milestone that made you stop and look back?

400 feet of hog panel fencing out near Matthews last spring, that was my big one. I was all proud of the number but then realized I forgot to account for the gate openings and ended up two panels short. Had to drive all the way back to the supply yard and they were out of that length, so I had to cut and splice some leftover pieces together. Idk, milestones are weird because they never look as clean from the ground as they do in your head.

Hit 300 linear feet of fence last summer and thought I was hot stuff until I realized my measuring tape was 25 feet, not 50. Took me a whole afternoon to redo the math and figure out I was actually closer to 250. Now I just count the post holes and hope for the best.

Had a buddy do the exact same thing but with t-posts. He measured out what he thought was a straight 200 foot run, drove all the posts, stretched the wire, and then realized his truck was parked exactly one full post length further back than he'd marked. Ended up having to pull six posts and reset them in the dark because he needed the pen done for some calves coming in the morning. Said he drank a whole six pack just staring at it afterward trying to figure out where it went wrong.
