Just learned a new trick for squaring up cabinet boxes

Was at a shop in Denver helping a buddy build kitchen cabs. He used a clamp and a scrap piece of plywood to hold the box square while the glue dried. No more fighting with crooked frames. I tried it on my next job and saved like 20 minutes per box. Anyone else use weird jigs to keep things square?

Had a buddy try using a ratchet strap once to pull a big cabinet frame square. He cinched it down too tight and snapped a miter joint clean off. Had to re-glue the whole thing and wait another day. Now he just uses a long clamp with a straight piece of 2x4 across the diagonal.

Changed my thinking on that, @logan_anderson40. That story convinced me to stick with clamps.

Yeah, that's a solid point. Over tightening is way too easy with straps.
