My ladder split right down the middle on a job in Santa Fe yesterday
I was up on a 6 foot step ladder pulling crown molding down in a kitchen remodel and the right rail just cracked and buckled. I dropped 3 feet onto tile and landed on my hip, lucky I didn't hit my head on the counter. Turns out I had a hairline fracture in the aluminum from setting it up on uneven ground too many times. Anyone else ever had a ladder fail on them, and what brand did you switch to?

Honestly, have you ever noticed how the stuff that's supposed to be the most solid always breaks at the worst time? Tbh, it's like the universe has a thing for making things fail when you're already in a tight spot. Ngl, I've seen it with ladders, but also with tool belts and even my truck's suspension - it's like everything has a hidden timer on it. That hairline fracture is a perfect example, a tiny flaw that just waits for the wrong moment to mess everything up.

Doesn't that just fit the pattern though? Stuff holds up fine until you really need it, then it gives out. It's like everything around us is just waiting for the worst possible moment to break. Your hip's gonna remind you of that for a while. Glad you're okay, but yeah, it's always the thing you trusted most that lets you down.
