My old foreman in Detroit told me to stop buying pre-cut studs, and I keep going back to it
Ran into him at a lumber yard on 8 Mile back in March and he asked why I was loading 92 5/8s instead of full 8 footers. He said the few bucks I save per stick isn't worth the waste on odd walls, and after framing a garage last month I see what he meant. I cut two boxes of scraps down to almost nothing when the plates came up short. Does anyone here frame with full length and cut on site, or am I overthinking a few dollars a stud?
