Rant: My miter saw kept binding on wet pressure treated 2x12s.

I was cutting a bunch of PT for a deck in Tacoma last week and the blade was smoking. I tried spraying the blade with some WD-40 as a lube and it cut smooth as butter. Anyone else have a better trick for this?

Yeah, @kai_ramirez38 is right about the fire risk. I mean, I saw a guy's sawdust pile smolder once after he tried something like that.

Isnt that the thing though, how we always reach for a quick fix like WD-40 instead of just letting the wood dry or getting a proper blade? @michael_williams saw that sawdust smolder himself, which is exactly the kind of lazy shortcut that catches up to you later, whether its on a jobsite or trying to unclog a sink with Draino.

WD-40 is a terrible idea, it's not a lubricant for cutting. You're just making a mess and it's a fire risk. Let the wood dry first or use a proper blade.

Fire risk" is the only part of that rant I agree with.
