Tried sanding cedar siding with 80 grit and got a finish I actually hated.

I spent last Saturday refinishing a client's porch in Asheville and the 80 grit left those deep swirl scratches that showed right through the stain, so has anyone else had better luck sticking to 120 grit for cedar?

80 grit is actually too coarse for cedar, you really want 120 or even 150 to avoid those swirl marks...

Honestly @blake_kelly19 I gotta ask, is it really that big of a deal? I've run 80 grit on plenty of cedar jobs and never seen any swirl marks that couldn't be fixed with a quick pass by hand.

Man I have to ask @the_lucas, is 150 vs 80 really that big of a difference on cedar? I've used 80 grit on like a dozen fence jobs and the swirls were basically gone after a light hand sand. Seems like people get WAY too worked up over grit numbers.
