Warning: I thought my old corded Makita was fine until I used a Milwaukee M18 Fuel on a framing job
We were building a deck in Portland last week and my corded saw kept tripping the extension cord, which was a huge pain. The crew lead handed me his Milwaukee and I cut through a 2x10 in like two seconds, no cord to mess with. Has anyone else made the switch to a good battery saw and found it actually saves time on site?

That "no cord to mess with" part is the real game changer.

Man, you're not kidding about the cord being a pain. I was on a job where we had to run power from the other side of the house, and just dragging that heavy cord around ate up so much time. Switched to a good battery saw and it's like you're suddenly free to move. The cut speed on the new ones is no joke either, it keeps up easy. That kind of freedom just makes the whole day go smoother.

Portland deck job too, what's the runtime on a 6x6?

Man, I had a buddy who swore by his corded saws for years until he borrowed my battery setup on a deck rebuild. He was dragging extension cords around and tripping over everything, then after one cut with the 6x6 he just shook his head and ordered one that night. @morgan_stone33, that runtime question is real, but he's running a full day on one charge now.
