Hit 500 yards of carpet in one day and I'm still split on whether that's a good benchmark or not

Pulled off 500 square yards of residential glue-down last Tuesday and felt like a machine, but a buddy of mine insists that's rookie numbers and says 700 is the real standard. Do you guys measure your day by footage or by the quality of the install, or is it just me?

@cora813 knows what's up because 500 yards glue-down is a solid day if you're actually doing it right. My back agrees with zarat37's van floor idea and I'd take that over trying to hit 700 and ending up with seams you can park a truck in.

500 yards glue-down flat? I'd rather count the times I reset the knee kicker than brag about yardage.

500 yards in a day and all I got was this stupid back pain and a glue fume headache that could knock out a horse. I measure success by how many times I have to re-peel a corner because I didn't press hard enough. 700 yards sounds like a good way to end up sleeping on the floor of the van.

Carpet glue headache is real @zarat37, 500 is a win in my book.
