My staple gun kept jamming on the top row of stairs and I finally figured out why
I was installing a Berber on a staircase in a house in Cleveland last month and my staple gun jammed 9 times on the top three steps. Every other row was fine. Turns out I was holding the gun at a slight angle because of how my body was twisted on the landing, and the staples were feeding sideways into the nose. I now keep a small scrap of 1/4 inch plywood next to me to square up my stance before shooting the top rows. Check your body position before you blame the tool, has anyone else run into this on stair jobs?
