Pro tip: The old 'wet string' trick for tight corners
I was doing a job in a Phoenix condo with a really sharp hallway turn, maybe 45 degrees, and the carpet just wouldn't lay flat without a bubble. I remembered an old guy telling me to soak a piece of mason's line in water and stretch it along the corner before tacking. I tried it, let the line dry for about 20 minutes, and the carpet hugged that angle perfectly when I put it down. It's one of those things you'd think wouldn't work, but it saved me a ton of time fighting with the material. Anyone else have a weird old-school trick for tricky seams?

The wet string trick is solid, but @owens.laura is right about a warm iron for stubborn spots too.

Wow, a warm iron works for me!

Oh totally, the iron trick is a game changer. I accidentally melted a sticker onto a thrifted jacket once and a warm iron saved it completely.
