That day I installed 14 rooms of carpet and the padding fight almost broke me
Just finishing up a job in a new subdivision near Phoenix. Builder wanted us to do 14 rooms in one day. We had a crew of three and started at 6 AM. By noon we realized the homeowner ordered a different pad than what the builder spec'd. Got a call from the builder yelling about the cost difference. Took 45 minutes on the phone to sort it out. Then one of my guys cut his hand on a tack strip and we lost another hour. Still finished by 9 PM. Everyone was beat but the client tipped us $40 each. Anyone else have a job where the padding caused more headaches than the carpet itself?

Dude you're complaining about a $40 tip per head? That's solid for one day lol.

Rode with a group of 8 last summer @wesley639 and the guy at the helm passed around a jar at the end. Everyone threw in $50 and I was like wait that's $400 for one trip. Felt like a lot but the captain was cool and had beers ready. Still though $40 a head is totally fair.

Honestly just start with a clear expectation before you get on the boat. Like hey we're all kicking in $40 each at the end right? Keeps it chill and nobody gets surprised.
