That hallway seam blew open 4 hours after I left the job site
Was finishing a basement install off in Akron last Tuesday, and the customer called me at 7 PM saying a seam had popped right where the hallway meets the bedroom doorway. I'd rushed the heat seam because their furniture was getting delivered the next morning, only had about 12 inches of strap left on my seamer. Drove back, pulled the carpet back, and the tape had never fully melted in that spot, probably because the subfloor was cold in that corner. I re-did it with a fresh strip and used a floor thermometer to check the heat before I let go of the trigger. Anyone else ever get burned by cold spots near exterior walls when you're in a hurry?
