That one Tuesday where the power stretcher finally clicked
Been fighting with kick plates for years. Then last week on a job in Akron, I set up the power stretcher on a long hallway. Took me 20 minutes to get the tension right. First run came out smooth as glass. No ripples, no wrinkles. I never got the feel for it before. Now I'm wondering if I should redo my whole approach to stairs too. Anyone else have a tool that just suddenly made sense after years of struggling?

Eight years I fought with the damn thing, honestly thought the old timers were just bragging about some secret handshake. But I had a job in Canton, 300 feet of 45 ounce carpet down a weird angled hallway, and I finally watched a guy set the pins and actually use his knee against the frame, not his arms. That changed everything for me, the pressure point is all in the push, not the pull. Now I trust it on long runs and I'm even trying it on my next staircase, which I used to hate with a passion. It's wild how one good setup day can just reset your whole brain on a tool.
