That stretched seam in a condo near the beach came back to haunt me 2 weeks later

Pulled a 12 foot seam tight on some plush carpet in a coastal condo near Myrtle Beach and now it's rippled after the humidity hit, has anyone else had this problem with coastal jobs where the padding seemed fine but the carpet just kept growing?

That "kept growing" part is what got me. I used to blame the install but now I get it.

Have you ever considered that the carpet might have been stored in a different climate before installation? I used to think it was always an install error too, but sometimes the material just wasn't acclimated right.
