That Tuesday I trimmed a door jamb with a multi-tool and it clicked for me

I was installing carpet in a bedroom in Denton and this door jamb was sitting about a quarter inch too low, so the tack strip was hitting it. Normally I would have fought with a hand saw and cussed for 20 minutes, but my buddy left his oscillating multi-tool in my van by accident. I zipped through that jamb in like 40 seconds, clean as could be, and suddenly the whole process felt way less painful. It made me think about all the little tools I keep passing over because they cost more than a basic blade. Has anyone else had a tool they borrowed once and ended up buying the next day because it saved that much hassle? I still feel dumb for not getting one earlier, but better late than never I guess.

You ever blow off a tool as overpriced and then kick yourself after one use? Same thing happened to me with an impact driver, I thought my drill was fine until I borrowed one for a deck project. Now I won't touch a screw without it, and I tell everyone it's the best hundred bucks I ever spent.
