Tried power stretcher vs knee kicker for a big living room, never going back
Last week I had a 20x15 living room to carpet. Usually I just use my knee kicker for everything, figured it would be fine. After the first row I knew I was in trouble, kept getting ripples and had to re-stretch twice. Borrowed a power stretcher from a buddy mid-job and it was night and day. Whole room went down flat in half the time. Anyone else hold out on buying a power stretcher and regret it?

Read somewhere that power stretchers save your knees too, not just your time.

You mentioned "save your knees too" - is that from less bending down to adjust the carpet, or just not having to push with your legs as hard? I've always wondered if the constant pressure on your joints from manual stretching adds up over years of doing it. Seems like if the power one lets you stand more upright, that alone would make a big difference long-term.

Joke's on me, I spent a whole day on my knees stretching carpet before I realized I could just stand up and let the machine do the work.
