Worst install day I've had in 5 years happened last Tuesday
Honestly, I showed up to a job in Arlington at 8am and the homeowner had already moved all their furniture into the room I was supposed to carpet. Took me an hour just to shift a couch and a pool table. Then the tack strip I laid down split apart because the concrete was damp from a leak they never told me about. Has anyone else had a client hide a problem like that and mess up your whole schedule?

Man, I used to think people wouldn't actually lie about stuff like that to save a few bucks. But after a job I had where they hid a cracked pipe under the floorboards and the whole subfloor was rotten when I pulled up the old carpet, I changed my mind real quick. @iris_thomas85 that wet concrete trick is brutal and I bet it took you twice as long to fix. That leak problem always comes back on us. So no, you're not alone on that one.

Hiding a wet concrete leak is a real pro move, almost as smart as my own decision to buy a van with no AC.

Had a buddy who bought a used work truck last summer. Salesman said AC just needed a recharge. First hot day he turned it on and got a face full of dust and a weird burnt smell. Turns out the compressor was completely shot and they just shoved a rag in the vent to block the airflow. Had to drop $900 on a whole new system. Some people really know how to pass their problems along.
