Question about a payment trick that finally worked for me
I had a client in Austin who was 60 days late on a $1,200 invoice and stopped replying to emails. On a whim, I sent a final notice with a subject line that just said 'Final Notice Before Small Claims Court' and attached a screenshot of the county court's website form. They paid the full amount within 3 hours. Has anyone else had luck with a similar bluff, or is this a bad idea?

Heard about a buddy who did something similar. He sent a super official looking "legal notice" PDF for a much smaller bill, like three hundred bucks. Guy paid it that same afternoon, guess the paperwork scared him straight.

Man, @ray_burns, that reminds me of the time my cousin faked a parking ticket to get his roommate to finally move their car.

Ever wonder how many people just pay fake fines without checking?
