Spending $40 on a late fee clause in my contract template saved me from chasing a $2k payment for two extra weeks.

I mean, the client paid right before the extra charge kicked in, so maybe it's just me but that small upfront cost feels like it did more than any follow-up email ever has, has anyone else had a specific clause actually work like that?

Oh for sure, it's like a magic trick. That clause basically does the chasing for you because the threat is real. It turns a maybe into a math problem they have to solve.
