That first time a slow payer ghosted me then showed up with cash

Had a client 6 months back, owed me $2,800 for a commercial job I did in Phoenix. Called 5 times, left 3 voicemails, nothing. Finally drove to his shop and stood at his desk. He handed me cash on the spot with a fake smile. I hate that chasing in person works but it's the only thing that does for some people. Anybody else found that showing up in person gets results where emails and texts fail completely?

I mean is 2800 really worth all that effort though

Man I read some tech blog that said you can flip those for way more if you wait a bit.

My buddy actually sat on a pair for like 4 months @pat_harris and ended up selling them for almost double what he paid, but he also had to deal with a bunch of flaky buyers on marketplace. He said the whole thing was such a headache he'd rather just take the quick cash next time. So yeah, can't blame anyone for wanting to skip that hassle.

Oh man this is such a perfect example of how everything these days has this hidden cost nobody talks about. Like yeah selling something for double sounds great on paper but you gotta factor in all the time wasted dealing with people who ghost you or show up with half the cash. @sethm58 you're totally right to question if 2800 is worth it because it's not just about the money, it's about your sanity. I see this pattern everywhere now like with people trying to flip furniture or even just selling old video game consoles. Everyone wants that quick win but the headache of listings, messages, no-shows, it adds up fast. Sometimes making a few hundred bucks less is totally worth skipping all that nonsense.
