Why does nobody talk about the 'Friday 5 PM' invoice rush?
Last month, I had three separate clients all send their payments at exactly 4:45 PM on a Friday. Two were for projects under $2k, and one was for a $4,500 branding package that was 60 days late. My phone just kept buzzing with payment alerts one after the other. It felt like they all waited until the absolute last minute before the weekend to finally clear their tabs. Has anyone else noticed clients bunching up payments right before closing time?

My accounting software shows payments spread pretty evenly. That one Friday was probably just a weird coincidence with your specific clients.

Actually that makes me wonder if the software is smoothing things out. Maybe it's grouping payments by processing date instead of when clients actually hit send. Could be hiding a real pattern people feel in their cash flow. Ever check the raw bank data against what the dashboard shows?

Compare the raw bank export to what your software says, that'll tell you real quick. I bet @daniel391 is onto something about processing dates vs actual send times. My own business account shows a cluster of Friday afternoon deposits that my dashboard just lumps into a weekly total. Maybe the software smooths it out so we don't panic, but it drives me nuts when predictions don't match my real bank balance.

Funny you mention that, because my bookkeeping shows the same rush every single week. It's not a software thing, my bank deposits all hit between 4 and 5 PM on Fridays. Maybe clients just want to clear their desk before the weekend?
